My true super peeps, Heidi and Sabina!

I had such a fun birth-week. On Monday I was able to go to breakfast with Robin and Glenna. Tuesday, I met Heidi and Sabina in Layton and had lunch. Wednesday night was book club. Thursday I went to the temple with Nancy and Glenna and then we went out to lunch. The boys brought me breakfast in bed, gave me lots of fun money to spend on books and decorated this awsome cake for me! I am so lucky! And to top it all off, Sunday was Mother's Day! What a grand week of celebrating we had! I feel so fortunate to have such good friends and a great family! Thanks everyone!

Our house turned 4 years old this past week. We celebrated with pizza and a campfire out back with our neighbors. We all put a candle in our pizza, lit them and sang the happy birthday song. I can't believe it has been 4 years. I remember feeling like the house would NEVER be done and now, we have been living in it for 4 years. How time flies! We have had so much fun here. It has been a very good experience for us. We love Wellsville and most of the people here :)

Reflections Contest

Seth painted this picture and won first place at school. He then went on and won first place in district. He then went on and won first place at region. Which means he went on to the state level competition. Not to bad for being in kindergarten!

Dalton took a picture of these leaves we found on our driveway. He won first place at the school and went onto the district competition.

Ethan painted this picture of the Wellsville Tablernacle for his entry. He won first place at the school and went on to the district competition.

I am so proud of all of them! I am so glad they all got a little of their dad's artistic abilities!

Bees, bees, and more bees!

We got bees. Which sounds to me to be some sort of bad thing. Like, we got the flu. But, it has been so very interesting! Chris raised bees as a kid and seems to think it's not that big of a deal. So far, it really hasn't been. It has actually been quite interesting to watch. Especially the time Chris got stung on the bum. That was very interesting...and sort of funny too. They (the bee people) sent them to us in the mail! Wow huh?! How would you like to be that mailman? Dogs no longer seem to be so threatening. Our cat did not know quite what to think about it all. We put them out in our neighbor's field behind their barn and then we called all the parents that live around us and warned them that they were there. Chris said it will take almost a year until we get honey. But the queenie bee has already started laying eggs and all of that sort of bee stuff. We'll have to post some more pictures as it all progresses.

The Marchenko family is a family we knew when we lived in Russia. In fact, Chris interviewed Dima for baptism while on his mission! Dima was our Branch President while we lived there together. (Dima is also the one we named Ethan after. Not the Ethan part of course but his middle name is Dimitri, which is the long form of Dima.) Dima has been called as an Area Seventies at this last general conference, he will be over the area consisting of the former Soviet Union. We were so very tickled to have the chance to see them again! Their girls are adorable and we will miss them so much when they go back home this week. They have been able to stay here for one whole month! It has been such a treat for us to have been able to spend so much time with them! I am ashamed that I have slacked off on my Russian and have vowed to do better and keep learning! There have been many a time that I'd wished I had kept up with it better and now I really am serious about doing more and getting better! It's embarassing to have to play charades everytime you want to say something. It gets tiresome and then pretty soon, you all just quit trying so hard and wait for someone who can translate for you and by the time someone comes along, the moment has passed and you missed out on some serious conversation!!! Rrrrr! We sure do love them and will miss them terribly!

We took our friends with us to the Fun Park and can you believe it? We had fun! We have had so much fun having our friends here. We are going to be sooooo sad when they have to go back home!

The fish farm

Our friends from Moscow are here in Utah and they have never been fishing before so, we took them to the fish farm in Amalga. This way we were pretty sure they would catch a fish and they did! It was so fun! (sorry the pictures are so small. I was experimenting and now I know what not to do...)

Eight IS great!

Dalton has been saying for about the last year how excited he was to turn 8! He could not be more excited to starts scouts! I thought he was going to sleep with his block of wood when he found out that he got to participate in the Pinewood Derby this year! When we asked him if he would like to be baptized he said, with big puppy dog eyes, "Oh yes I do!" He is such a treat to have in our family!

Seth's big day!

I know that you can't really tell but, on the first picture, Seth has lost his first tooth. The picture is sort of blurry and he also already had the permanent tooth coming in so, there really isn't much of a gap. His baby tooth has been hanging on by a tiny thread for about a week but, he would melt down and sob if I mentioned pulling it out. So, leave it to one of his brothers to kick him in the face and that took care of it for us! He has another one now that is barely hanging on and I keep telling Ethan and Dalton to go ahead and just give him a little kick and take care of the tooth. Can you believe that neither one of them will do it??? So, on the same day, Seth rode his two wheeler with no help! Yea!!! This is a HUGE milestone for us! He is a VERY cautious child! As if these two things weren't neat enough to have happen in one day, as I was putting him to bed that night and talking to him about how great it all was, he told me, very excitedly that he had also tooted 5 times that day! Can you believe that?! Your first tooth, riding a two wheeler and tooting 5 times! It just doesn't get any better than that! Those are some serious milestones! (Is this a kid thing or a boy thing?)

April Fool's Dinner

For April Fool's day we had dinner for breakfast and breakfast for dinner. I fixed scrambled eggs and bisquits for dinner and we ate by candle light on our fancy dishes. It was tons of fun.

Ski Day

Federation 2009

Dalton participated in the Federation Festival again this year. He had to memorize 2 pieces of music and preform them in front of a panel of judges. He received a Superior rating from all three judges! (that is the highest rating you can get!!) He did so good! He has been practicing so hard for this for months! Doesn't he just look so cute sitting there?! I am very proud of him for having the courage to get up there in front of all those people!

Holy snowstorm Batman!

Can you believe this snowstorm? It is the most snow I have ever seen fall in less than a 24 hour period! It was crazy. We laughed at the weatherman as we went to bed. There was not a cloud in the sky! And we woke up to 10"

of snow and by the time the kids got out of school, it was up to 23"! Chris pulled a bunch of the kids behind the truck in the church parking lot. They had a blast. (Chris included) We're hoping it all melts away this weekend with our scortching hot predicted 50 degrees...

Dalton has been begging me for months to color his hair blue. I guess there is some guy on Pokemon who is way cool and he has blue hair. Well, I found some of that wash out hair color so, since the boys have a long weekend, I let them color their hair the color of their choice. (Seth wanted orange but they didn't have that color) It's weird how different they look with different color hair. So, just for your information, when the package says it washes out in one wash, it does not apply to your skin. If you try this, you should wear gloves...

Ethan's Birthday

So, the 8th was Ethan's birthday. He turned 10. I let him decorate his own cake. It was pretty fun and he was super excited about it. He got a new game for his gameboy and as you can see from the pictures, it was the hit of the party and not just for him. The boys sure are growing up fast. It is hard to believe that my baby is 10 and my baby baby is in school! Wowee, how time flies. (sorry about the sideways picture... I don't have time to fix it.)

Saturday was our "lazy day". We went and rented a bunch of movies and laid around all day and watched them and only got up to eat. It was delightful and by the end of the day I thought we were all going to go crazy! Good thing we don't do that very often. But, it was good to do once or maybe even twice...

It seems to me that life is getting a bit crazy (crazier). We are trying to fit everything into the last little bit of summer and trying to get ready for school. I have to be honest and say that I'm not sure how much time I will be able to devote to my already neglected blog, once I get back into classes. It was fun while it lasted... I hope to be able to still post once in a while but really what is there to take pictures of? Us studying? We'll see how it all goes. We hope that everyone's summer was all that you wanted it to be! And good luck with school to all of you who are going and to all of you who have to help those who are going...

My new bedroom set

My husband is the BEST! Look at what he can do! He is completely wasting his talent working at McDonalds! He really should be doing more with it. If you can believe it, he designed all of this and built it too. I am so lucky! Everyday when I wake up I look with amazement at my bedroom set and smile. Alright, so Chris doesn't really work at McDonalds but, I still think his talent is being wasted on his current job. Anyone who can build furniture like this should be working somewhere that appreciates his talent for what it is! I am not partial or biased one little bit, that's for sure!

Now, let it be said that I am not the world's finest photographer so, you might have to come over and get a real live look at it to fully understand it's beauty. How do you like the "bull's eye" between the dressers? It the boy's chore chart. When we use it, it works great. But, as of lately, it just looks pretty. Chris's sister is going to make us a quilt to go on our beautiful new bed and I can hardly wait for that. Except she is just waiting for me to make some decisions on colors... I'm so excited that I can't make a decision. So, if anyone wants to help me figure that all out, you are welcome to contact me.

Bear Lake

Avery took my camera while I wasn't looking at took some pretty funny, candid shots for me. This was the only one that didn't have an inocent victim in it. She is hilarious! We're so glad she is back! (she has been in Baltimore, being a nanny)

We spent the weekend up at Bear Lake with Sheila, my sister, and her family. It was a blast! We haven't had that much fun in a long time. We all got pretty fried, that wasn't so fun but, it was totally worth it!

K- I don't know why I have this picture on here twice... Nevertheless, who knew the kids could have so much fun with a pile of dirt? Who needs a tramp or a swing set?? Dirt, it works great and it's free. The clean up is not so fun but, it was good for at least 2 hours of fun. After they were all done having their fun, I had mine and hosed them all down.

To all of you waiting with baited breath for the next new and exciting addition to our blog, I have to apologize. I am having technical difficulties... Not the computer, just me. It has been so long since I added anything that I plum forgot how to access my pictures. I get that that is pretty lame, but, we have put the picutres in a different place and now, I can't find them. I am so exasperated I am starting to feel rage so, I'm going to go yet another day without updating this! I hope all of our adoring fans with be patient with me and keep checking back to see if I have overcome my technical difficulties.

Cookie Dough

So, here is my cookie dough experience... I am currently the secretary for the Young Women in our ward and "they" (I'm not sure who they are) have decided that makes me in charge of Personal Progress. Which is fine with me. It gives me a feeling of having something to actually do besides take role. So we, a few of the girls and I, decided that we would do a Sub for Santa for their Value Projects. Thus, some fundraisers were required. Our first one was to sale frozen cookie dough balls. You get two dozen cookie dough balls for $5. That gave us a $3 profit. We sold them for one Saturday at the park during a PTA thing and then sent a sign up around church one day. This gave us 41 orders. Equalling 83 dozen cookie dough balls. Do you have any idea how much cookie dough that is??? I was able to get the girls to come to the house once and we made 32 doz that day. I made the rest. Do you want to guess how much cookie dough I ate in the proccess? Not a pretty thought. I thought I certainly would never be able to touch cookie dough again. But, look at that, I was wrong. We ended up making $120 on this fundraiser alone! I was so excited! Our next big adventure will be car washes for Father's Day. The catch is, we go to their house and wash it right there. I hope I am not washing 51 cars by myself... I am going to be a littlel more persistent in getting some help with this one. Just a quick note on the picture of the girls eating the cookie balls, we staged that picture so if you got some of our cookie dough, you need to know that I was very careful about fingers going into mouths and then touching the dough. I was also fortunate enough to get at least 2 hours work out of these guys before the cell phones and Ipods came out. At that point, I knew I had lost them so, we finished up and called it a day. Here are some funny facts about how much stuff we used. We used; 110 Cups of flour, 64 eggs, 48 cups of sugar, 20 cups of shortening, 15 Bags of chocolate chips, 12bags of toffee, 3 bags of peanut butter chips, and 4 cups of oatmeal. All in all, it was fun and totally worth it! Think of what we can buy with $120!!

Look at me! I got music on our blog! Whoo whoo! I am pretty proud of myself! It is a bit embarassing how excited I am about all of this. But, I get it where I can! My mind went completely blank when it came time to pick the songs but, I did remember some of our favorites. Considering we only get two stations in Cache Valley, we're quite limited in our abilities to listen to music from the outside world. I am however, trying to branch out in our realm of music. The mere fact that we now have Guitar Hero means we are getting a new genere of music to listen to and sing around the house. All three of the boys are now constantly singing, "School's Out for the Summer". Well, I think I will go eat a frozen cookie dough ball and relish in my accomplishments! (I know it is hard to believe that I could eat another one of those cookie dough balls but alas, it is sugar and fat. How can I resist?) I'll explain the whole cookie dough thing for most of you tomorrow. I'm too excited to sit here for one more minute.

So, it appears that Chris has found yet another "great" deal! I'm not sure how he keeps finding all of these deals that seem to only be at Best Buy and Lowe's... Needless to say, we now are the proud owners of Guitar Hero! Too much fun was had at the Jeppson house on Monday. My guitar arm and fingers are already sore. What does that say about me? I told Chris maybe next time he goes to Best Buy Rock Band might be on sale too. And since he has such good luck finding all of these "freebies", maybe he should start at least walking through the clothes and jewlery stores. Anyway, I thought I would share the joy. Rock on Brother!

We spent a day at the San Diego Temple. It was so beautiful in there! The next day we went snorkeling while we were on Catalina! It was quite terrifying for me but, amazing. We also went to Mexico but I lost the picture I posted of that. Who really know where it went. Since this is my third time trying to post this dang cruise, I'm not going to cry over one picture of me at a Mexican kiosk. So, there you have it. It was so very good to go and get away and it was so very good to get home! We had a great time, ate a lot of food and missed our kids!

The history of our Blog

The history of the Jeppson Blog. It all started 11 years ago when two people fell in love...
I actually just feel pretty left behind on all of this advanced technology and I refuse to be the one left standing there questioning "what's a blog?" as I was and still am the one wondering what exactly LOL means. Oh wait, it's lots of love or something like that... I got the BFF down. I am still wondering what the difference is between an Ipod, an Izod, and Itoy (I know it really is an eye toy). So, thus has begun my quest to blog. My blog will probably fail in comparison to some of you OCD bloggers, as does my scrapbook but, I'm ok with that. I just wanted to see what it felt like to be a part of the young hip crowd again. I have to say, it feels good! I had the giggles all day because I figured this out! The fact that I feel like I need to explain all of this puts me into that group of people who try to use cool words but just end up sounding more like an idiot. How do I feel about that? I guess I don't really care so much. I'm just getting a kick out of watching my kids get a kick out of seeing their pictures online. However, if you feel impelled to make fun of it or me don't do it to my face. I prefer you to do it behind my back. Ignorance IS bliss in some cases if not all. So, that's about all there is to the recent history of our family blog.
